About Catty Corner Cafe

The Owner
Heather Donahue began her journey in the field of marketing after graduating from the business school at George Mason University. After her career in advertising she decided to settle down in Leesburg to raise her four children. Heather always found in herself to have an exclusive form of love and warmth for cats, considering herself to be a cat fanatic and deciding to help these marvelous creatures with care and affection. She became a foster mom for cats in Loudoun and with this began a new chapter in her life. She decided to open a cat café for people that are like minded, where cat lovers like herself can come in, interact and spend their days being surrounded with cats. She believed in her need for a space that can blend her love for cats, coffee and cozy spaces, hence the birth of Catty Corner Café.
The Business
When she was ready to return to the workforce, Heather realized that entrepreneurship was the best path for her. She decided to combine her passions to create the Catty Corner Café. These passions include:
● A love for cats: Heather is a self-described "cat fanatic" who previously served as a foster mom for cats. The café gives her a way to help rescue cats by providing them with a safe, temporary home where they can be adopted.
● A love for cozy spaces: Heather has a talent for creating comfortable, inviting environments through thrifting and upcycling.
● Customer service: She used her extensive customer service skills to create a space where like-minded cat lovers can relax and interact with felines.
● A love for coffee: The café blends her passion for coffee with a comfortable setting.
The Catty Corner Café was born from her desire for a space that brings together cats, coffee, and cozy atmospheres, allowing her to help animals while building a new chapter in her life.
The Ambassador of Catty Corner
Meet our charming and delightful ambassador, Cello! She was the very first cat to arrive at the Catty Corner and immediately captured everyone's hearts. Her sweet and engaging personality made her the perfect choice to represent our café, and we couldn't imagine a better face for our brand.
Cello is a former community cat who was rescued as a kitten, allowing her to be socialized and become the loving companion she is today. As a TNR (trap-neuter-return) success story, she serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of this program. Her tipped ear, a common marker for TNR cats, allows us to share with guests how crucial it is to control the overpopulation of outdoor cats. We're proud to say that Cello's own mother, thanks to being TNR'd, won't be having any more kittens. Cello is an absolute angel and a true symbol of hope and education for the community.
